Hey, Baytown Bert, I was browsing your website looking at pictures of Takhli,
and I saw my mom. So here’s a weird story for you. I was looking online to see if maybe there was a blog or something of old F-111 guys reliving the Takhli days, and I came across your photo pages. Some old memories there for me as well. One photo in particular caught my eye (attached). It’s titled ‘Bungalows downtown where I lived’ and the photo credit belongs to Eugene Moore. I don’t recall knowing any of you guys since I worked first in 429th Ops and then at Wing Ops (I was a Target Intel guy), but the girl in the photo looked familiar as did the surroundings. Since I’m now 60 and the memory is pretty weak, I’m thinking I lived on that street, probably at the same time as you all were there, but I’m not sure. I just can’t fill in the details. Do you remember what the girl’s name was? I was there from Sep 72 through Mar 74, but I left for a short stateside visit in early 73 for about 2 months before returning. Well, if your memory is as weak as mine, you probably don’t remember either, but it was worth a shot. Thanks for posting the pics, and the memories they brought back. Warmest regards, Joe |
